Over the past two decades, Berlin label Get Physical Music has grown into one of the world’s most revered and trusted electronic music imprints. What started as a project between friends to establish the sort of space they wanted to see in dance music, Get Physical is a name that has only grown in stature and cultural significance. Coming under the leadership of current label head Roland Leesker, over the past decade Get Physical has expanded its scope to reflect the ever evolving world of electronic music.
In celebration of the label’s milestone 20th anniversary, Leesker got to work compiling a definitive compilation of music that celebrates Get Physical’s past, and looks toward its ever bright future. Today, The Playground joins in the celebrations with this very special podcast. We’ll be speaking to Roland, and hearing from a number of the Get Physical family about their favourite memories and milestones with the label, while listening to this momentous compilation together. Family, after all, has been central to what Get Physical has built.
