MELT! Festival kicks off this week from 14 -17 July. The stage has seen the likes of Björk, Pet Shop Boys, The Streets, Portishead, Moderat, Tame Impala, Justice, Disclosure, Jamie xx, Flume, Oasis, Boys Noize, Sven Väth, and Richie Hawtin, boasting lineups consisting of some of the world’s biggest names in music.
Founded in 1997 at Lake Bernstein in Velten, the festival’s home became Lake Gremmin in Ferroplolis in 1999, where it was established as a melting pot of art and music – one of the biggest open-air electronic music festivals in Germany. By 2008 the festival had extended to a three day event, with Bjork taking the stage on the festival’s first ever Sunday.
Over the years, the festival grounds have been extended and now include access to the lake, an open-air cinema, the adventurous ‘Forest‘ (equipped with a treehouse, hammocks and its very own dance floor) as well as ‘The Sleepless Floor’ – the pulsating heart of the festival.
This year’s lineup features the Die Antwoord, Bonobo, Maceo Plex, Rødhåd, Adam Beyer, Soulwax, Red Rackem’, Richie Hawtin and more, and promises to make MELT! 2017 an event to be remembered.
