The Field releases ambient acid house single, ‘Who Goes There’, from upcoming album

Written by Maya-Rose Torrão

Swedish producer Axel Willner, who releases music under his project The Field, has just shared a single from his upcoming album, ‘Infinite Moments’, which was announced last month. The new track is titled ‘Who Goes There’ and is nine minutes of delicately delivered ambient house which steadily builds into a groovy acid beat. The Field’s latest album is his first release in two years and is scheduled to be released on September 21 via Willner’s label since 2004, Kompakt. Willner seems positive about the upcoming releases for this year, explaining in a press release that, “Hope is something I’ve been missing in the nowadays climate and this album is a relief to me, a type of comfort, like a moment that feels good and you don’t want to end.”

The Field has been making exceptional contributions to experimental and minimal electronic music for over a decade and has gone further than ever before in blurring the lines between concrete experimentation, body music and precisely laid-out arrangement, leading to one of the most rhythmically and texturally engaging listening experiences in Willner’s catalogue. Now Axel Willner puts on his The Field suit again to present his sixth full-length effort for Kompakt, which sees him striding further across the deeper, richer rims of music experimentation and production. In Willner’s own words, “the threshold of creating something new had to be broken“.
