British producer Leon Vynehall has been announced as the next contributing artist to fabric’s ongoing fabric presents mix series. Vynehall’s mix will follow SHERELLE and Overmono’s recent mix and compilations, and will include a mix of ambient, gqom, breakbeat and afro house. Exclusive tracks from Skee Mask and Or:la, as well as a new single from Vynehall himself called Sugar Slip (The Lick) are included on the mix.
“fabric had a huge part to play in shaping what I heard and was exposed to via their mix and compilation series,” said Vynehall. Speaking on the opportunity and his approach to the mix/compilation, he continued: “The first two I heard were Swayzak’s fabric 11, and James Murphy & Pat Mahoney’s FABRICLIVE 36. Both these CDs helped open the door to a wider palette of sounds. Not only did I delve deeper into the compilations post & prior, but I learned about what I enjoyed when it comes to Djing—dynamics.”
To celebrate and launch his mix, Vynehall will curate a party at fabric on April 8th, where he is scheduled to both DJ and perform live on the same night for the first time. Vynehall’s fabric presents mix and compilation is due on March 25th via Fabric Records. It will be available digitally, as well as on vinyl and CD. Pre-order it here.
