Following the harrowing news of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova has formed a digital crypto organisation in support of Ukraine. Partnering with crypto firms Trippy Labs and PleasrDAO, Tolokonnikova launched Ukraine DAO, a digital organisation that will mint 10,000 NFTs of the Ukraine flag, as well as unique NFT versions of the flag. The proceeds raised from the sale of the NFTs of the platform will go directly to Return Alive Foundation and the Proliska NGO.
Ukraine DAO launched their inaugural auction this past Saturday, and the exhibit runs until Monday. Tolokonnikova, who has been outspoken in her activism both with Pussy Riot and outside of the punk-feminist outfit, says “Activism is the only reason I joined Web3. Now, when I’m so deeply ashamed of my government, I simply have to try to help Ukrainians.”
