Native Instruments & iZotope announce Soundwide umbrella, share prestigious Artist Board

It’s difficult to discuss audio production without Native Instruments or iZotope entering into the equation at some point. It’s almost like one of those word-association games that unexpectedly bury their way into your mind, which is why it made significant news when the two joined forces in 2021. Today, we were introduced to the ground-breaking umbrella company they’ve created, Soundwide which also includes Plugin Alliance, Brainworx, and the newly formed Sound Stacks amongst its ranks. The company will offer a world-class audio and music creation ecosystem that will have broad engineering capabilities across integrated software and hardware, AI and machine learning, cloud storage, as well as other exceptionally useful tools. The Soundwide company is also announcing the appointment of their esteemed Artist Board who will be advising and contributing to the innovation of the company wherever possible.

The list of artists on the board includes a wealth of names from the industry including singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, Ann Mincieli (recording and mix engineer), EL-P of Run the Jewels (producer and rapper), Jacob Collier (multi-talented musician, producer and composer), Ludwig Göransson (composer), Noah “40” Shebib (producer and engineer), Take A Daytrip (production duo), Tayla Parx (singer-songwriter), and Young Guru (producer and engineer). In total, the board has won 29 GRAMMY awards (out of 77 nominations), and their own recorded music has amassed over 10 Billion streams on YouTube and Spotify alone.

The Artist Board will advise Soundwide with the goal to empower the community, putting the needs of the artist first with the goal to make music creation a more joyful experience and in turn, improve the quality of the music industry. Much can be said about the importance of a clean user experience and Soundwide seem to be setting itself apart from the competition by making sure that they consult each professional at every turn, with a focus first and foremost being placed on the musicians themselves.

Mark Cattini, CEO of Soundwide gives us an idea of how the company aims to push innovation: “Going forward, we’re asking ourselves: ‘What do our community members need to tap into their ultimate creative workflow and how can we help get them there?.’ By first uncovering and understanding our community’s needs, we can map out our goals and move one step closer to the future of sound. Soundwide’s Artist Board provides a unique opportunity to offer up more seats at the table and collaborate with board members to bring new voices into the conversation.”
