TP Mix #148 – Sepp

Organic house musician Sepp is a spectacular talent that has stayed true to his sound since his inception. With a charming yet down-to-earth personality, the producer and label owner today shares a mix with us. An avid lover of travel and culture, the producer merges these influences from his many journeys and creates an uplifting and somewhat ethereal tone to his craft. The mix featured today has elements of field textures and other experimental electronic aspects but still maintains a danceable beat. Whether you just want to let your hair down after a trying day or celebrating a big win, this mix encompasses joy and radiates positive vibes for times like these.

Set the tone for us. Why the arts?

I felt attached to music from an early age listening to ‘80s music.

Which comes first when you’re producing – the sound or the idea?

There were different parts in my career where I had different ideas of how I started the track, but lately, I go with the flow and feel it’s the best way to do it.

Does your material feature any collaborations?

Yes, I have a project with my colleague NuZau under our alias EPAU on the way, and also I have a few projects of my own soon to be released.

What’s on your current playlist?

Everything that makes everybody happy after any or every gig.

Tell us about the chemistry you have with your fans on stage.

The chemistry has no explanation. You have people with you or near you who love, appreciate, and respect you as a person and your work as well.

What techniques do you experiment with to get your original sound?

I can’t say there are any special or unique techniques. I let my inspiration go in any direction and basically seems to define my style, that’s me.

Take us through a day in the recording studio.

Starting with great welcoming, well treated, drinks, food, and music till the end.

Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “this is what I want to do”?

2005 was the moment when I knew “this is the thing, I’m going to do”. It was summer, the first night and time when Sunrise agency brings for the first time Cocoon rooter in Motor Club during that season.

What do you keep close by while you’re playing a set?

My Family – in my mind and heart.

Any emerging artists on your radar?

There are so many new artists on the radar at the moment.

What gets your creative juices flowing?

Soul peace!

Take us through your collection of gear, tech or software that accompanies your creative expression.

I use some machines from Elektron, Roland, Native and Ableton.

Any side projects you’re working on?

Yes, I do edits under different aliases.

How have you refined your craft since you entered the industry?

Perseverance is the key, that’s me ( you see I  rhyme too).

Breakdown the news for us: what can we expect from you this year?

Few great releases, two hits,, my project with NuZau (EPAU), and many more. Stay tuned.

Famous last words?

Never stop trusting in yourself!
