South African producer and gqom pioneer DJ Lag has embarked on an extensive world tour that will see him visit every continent over the next 10 months.
The Alpha-Zulu (A-Z) World Tour “represents something that goes from start to finish and this tour is about performing, collaborating and recording on every continent,” Lag shared. “I want to blend genres and create new sounds along the way. It is going to be about exploring and experimenting on stages and studios from Mumbai to Miami to Accra and many more in-between.”
The tour kicked off last week in Bangalore, India, before heading to Africa, North America, and Europe. A second leg visiting South America, Australia, and the rest of Asia is expected later this year. The tour follows Lag’s acclaimed debut album, Meeting With The King, with the tour’s opening night happening on the one year anniversary of the album’s release.
DJ Lag also wishes to work while on the road, citing the tour as an opportunity for collaboration. “This year is all about touring, collaborating, recording and releasing music from all over the world,” he said.
