Since your debut, you guys have worked with some major names in dance music. Are there any dream collaborations you’d still like to explore?
We’d love to do a ‘dream’ collab with The Prodigy, basemennt jaxx or Audiobullys.
How would you describe your current sound, and who would you say have been the biggest influences on this direction?
Our current sound is what we feel fits perfect in our peak time sets at the moment. Bangers that still maintain influences of groove and faster tempo’s. Tiësto has once again been one of our influences for this direction. Also the productions and sets of Martin Garrix and Calvin Harris inspired us to go into this direction.
How does this mix speak toward where Firebeatz currently is creatively?
We have always been using samples in our productions and we still love to search and manipulate samples into our own direction. Being back on the festivals during the past year helped us to form our current sound and creativity.
Have you been touring a lot this summer? What’s been the most exciting show so far?
This summer was really good again! Tomorrowland is always a special festival so that was definitely 1 of our highlights this summer. Another great show was Martin Garrix’s event at Ushuaia Ibiza. And not to forget Unseen Festival in Bangkok was insane!
What’s next? Any exciting projects that you’re working on?
Our next single on Spinnin’ Records is a cool rework of an oldskool house vocal. We’re also working on some big collabs again and have so much music laying around waiting to be released! We’re working on the relaunch of our label Ignite Recordings as well. Touring wise we just signed our 2024 residency for New York at club Nebula! So plenty of projects and plans for the future! Would be sick to play in South Africa as well!
