Sandro Silva established himself as one of the pioneers in modern electronic dance music. Discovered and embraced at a young age by the likes of Tiësto, David Guetta and Calvin Harris, he enjoyed massive successes early on in his career. Back in 2011 it was his astronomical hit record Epic together with Quintino, that shot him to worldwide fame. Remaining a steady presence ever since, he’s collaborated with the likes of W&W and 3 Are Legend, and remixed similar key players like Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke.
The musical road he’s taken has been a fast one, creating a new wave with his big room sound and continuously pushing and evolving his career. After years of touring and hitting the elite hotspots and biggest festivals around the globe, he remains ever so focused on pushing his own boundaries and showcasing his new music to the world.
What’s currently inspiring you, and how do you think your sound is evolving based on this inspiration?
What inspires me a lot is Brazilian and latin music. I really love the grooves and drums, that make people move and dance. This took my own sound to a new direction, and it’s something I really want to build to another level. I already have some high profile records and collabs coming up with my new sound, so can’t wait to show this to the world.
How does this mix speak toward where Sandro Silva currently is creatively?
This mix shows the combination of music I really love but at the same time has to work on a big stage. It has those latin influences, mixed with those typical EDM elements. I love to combine elements, not just in the studio but also in my live shows and mixes.
Where can fans see you live next?
The first show in October will be with ADE. I’m playing the Rave Culture ADE showcase at Q Factory, alongside many other big names.
What does the new year look like for Sandro Silva?
So like I mentioned, in 2024 I will show my new direction with the music that’s coming up. I’m going back to my roots, and truly produce and release what I like from my heart. Hope the world will like it too!
