To those not familiar with you, how would you describe your sound?

I’m not very good at describing, in words, my true feelings. I suppose that’s one reason why I make attempts at expressing my self in other ways.

What are the 5 albums and artists that have influenced you the most?

Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Marlon Jackson and Michael Jackson.

What other artists do you really like at the moment and why?

Reggie Omas Mamode, Jeen Bassa, Al Dobson Jr, Paul White and Tenderlonius. These people are my friends and family……Oh and they make some of the best music around at the moment.

What are some of the key pieces of gear you use to write your tracks?

Always necessary to have a mic. Clapping my hands feature often on in my stuff. I really enjoy congas…..to play and to listen to. Record player to play some inspiration.

What’s the best gig you have ever done and why?

I had a great time recently in Tenerife….I really felt like I connected with people. I’ve been lucky to have some really enjoyable gigs!!
Worst?

When I was young I did support slot with a friend. It was in a big venue….and at the time, was a big deal to me. The promoter had booked a fairly big act to headline, I looked up to them.
The promoter did a shocking job and about 12 people turned up in a huge venue, they kept the lights on because of the bouncy castle the promoter had hired. It was embarrassing and a terrible performance from us, and the main act. Meeting them was also a major disappointment.

Your style is very original and sees you drawing from a lot of influences. Working with live recordings, what is your production process?

It tends to change a lot….but I like to start by listening to some records.

Your album is due out March 23rd. What can we expect on this expedition?

A mix of different ideas I’ve brewing up for a while! Thanks!
