‘Halo’ is taken from Mugwump’s hugely anticipated and now critically acclaimed album ‘Unspell‘, which for want of a more complex term, went down a treat. He’s had 25 year long career as a producer, DJ and leader of the Belgian club scene and now Geoffroy Dewandeler is still making a name for himself as one of electronic music’s most enduring talents.
Directed by Sam Kadz the video walks a tight rope that veers between a wrestlers guide to romantic exploration and an American Apparel advert and it’s completely alluring.
With Luke Jenner formerly of The Rapture on vocals, Halo becomes a sweet, disco’y overload of texture and melody and verges on euphoric.
