In a statement online, multitalented musician and performance artist Björk announced, “This winter I will prepare my most elaborate stage concert yet, where the acoustic and digital will shake hands, encouraged by a bespoke team of collaborators.” The new concert production will be be produced in collaboration with The Shed, a brand new arts centre in New York, set to open in 2019. ‘Cornucopia’ will be directed by Tony Award-winner John Tiffany (‘Once’, ‘Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’), with visual and stage design responsibilities taken on by media artist Tobias Gremmler and designer Chloe Lamford, respectively.
Björk will be joined on stage by seven-piece female Icelandic flute ensemble Viibra, with whom she has collaborated before, as well as a harpist, a percussionist and Bergur Þórisson on electronics.
