Charli XCX releases video for ‘Used To Know Me’

Charli XCX has released a music video for the song Used To Know Me, off her latest album Crash. The track interpolates Robin. S’s seminal 90’s house classic, Show Me Love. In the video, XCX performs as various avatars, including a dominatrix, cheerleader, and Marie Antoinette style character. Used To Know Me serves as the fifth visual to be released from Crash, following lead single Good Ones and most recently, Every Rule

Her fifth album, with Crash XCX has largely eschewed her experimental style for a more straightforward pop approach, playing into mainstream tropes and appeal. Crash is XCX’s final album on her current deal with Atlantic, and dubbing this her “sell-out era” she has used the project as a means to explore “what it means to be a pop star on a major label in a not very current way,”
