eevee and sweeep – vandalism and selfcare

Producers eevee and sweeep paint the town red with their new album vandalism and selfcare, a confident composition that leaves the impression that the duo is dedicated to pushing the limits of their craft. Listening to the project, released by Secret Souls, we ventured into a discovery of the pair’s unique viewpoint.

Stream / Download: vandalism and selfcare

Listening to the record ‘Castle’ is like exploring the haunted halls of a torch-lit palace. Dissonant tones contrast with happy piano runs, which descend deeper and deeper, guiding us toward the gloomy dungeons, where they leave us to listen to the faint whisper of ghosts–a chilling experience.

eevee and sweeep carry the phantom vocal effect throughout the duration of the project. We hear it emerge once more in the track ‘split in two’, where fast-paced drum rhythms juxtapose its ethereal buoyancy. The thinned-out voice unifies the project, tying together the booming thud of an 808 with the contrary aspects of future garage. With so many influences, the album holds itself together well, thanks to the collaborators’ studio chemistry.
