Jessie Ware has shared a music video for her latest single, Free Yourself. The track, a continuation of Ware’s disco glam influenced sound, was first heard during her set at Glastonbury before receiving an official release last month. Free Yourself includes production credits from Stuart Price and Clarence Coffee Jr.
In the video, set in an abandoned regal hall, Ware takes on the role of high priestess. Dressed in a flowing red silk robe, she leads a crew of freaks, voguers, and club kids in a ritualistic dance of sorts as she delivers the song’s lyrics as if in sermon.
Ware has stated that Free Yourself is our first taste of a new album. Speaking on the song’s place in her discography, Ware shared in a press release: “Free Yourself is the beginning of a new era for me. I’m so excited for people to have this song for the end of their summer; to dance, to feel no inhibitions, and to feel joyful because that’s how I’ve been feeling recently being able to tour again and being able to sing again. Enjoy yourself, Free Yourself!”
