It was just under a year ago that KARMACODA shared their transformative LP, ‘Slow Down, Melt and Catch Fire which would create a stir in the downtempo pop community. Unexpectedly, it also caught the attention of several well-known house aficionados who stepped forward to put their spin on some of the singles found within the album. The KARMACODA trio have compiled the remixes created by Extrawelt, Lycoriscoris and Sailor & I, releasing them as a bonus EP to kick the year off with a house-infused bang.
The Lycoriscoris remix for ‘Make Me The One’ was released in December 2021, just in time to round off the year with its gentle ambient house tones. Extrawelt launched us into 2022 with his deep house taken on ‘Feels’ and all of their unusual goodness. With the release of the EP, we find ourselves turning to the more melodic workings of Sailor & I as he tackles ‘Traps’ with elegant creative grace. The remix is growing with popularity by the day and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s next for the original creators of the song.
Sailor & I shares a little about the creation of the remix: “I felt like trying to take this track into a dark french underground disco thing, without being too dancey in a modern way.”
