Pop-punk vocalist/rapper Sawyer independently released his latest single, ‘My Fault’, on October 27th, 2023. The track was accompanied by a trippy music video directed by Alex Edep, founder of Dumb Days!. The Miami-based artist teamed up with multi-talented musician Diego Ferrera to produce the track and grammy-nominated engineer Ira Grylack to mix and master the track.
‘My Fault’ uniquely blends the production of emo-pop and hyperpop with the attitude of emo-rock, a vivid ode to the journey of learning from one’s mistakes. Sawyer and his team pulled inspiration from artists like Mom Jeans, Brakence, and 100 gecs. The dynamic visuals seen in the accompanying music video perfectly capture the chaotic essense of the song. The universal appeal of ‘My Fault’’s pop sensibilities, the head-bangability of its emo rock attitude and the glitchy energy of its production make for an electrifying anthem of introspection and growth.
Sawyer commented: “I wrote the song about a heartfelt situation that touches on the universal theme of acknowledging one’s mistakes and the resulting personal growth over time and the inner turmoil that often accompanies moments of realization, culminating in the climatic outro of the song.”
