Ólafur Arnalds reveals next LP, ‘re:member’ utilising self-playing software

Icelandic multi-instrumentalis, artist and composer Ólafur Arnalds has announced his fourth upcoming studio album, re:member set for release on August 24th via Mercury KX.

Arnalds has stated that for the album he will be implementing software entitled Stratus, which he has been programming for the last two years with fellow artist Halldór Eldjárn. Stratus uses MIDI triggers and Moog Piano Bars to generate alternate sequences via two player pianos, and Arnalds has commented, saying, “You get ideas that you would never get otherwise, just because this inspired those ideas.”
