Between the 10th and 12th of March in 2023, synaesthetic producer, teacher, and innovator Robert Babicz will be performing live at the TIMELESS Festival. Hosted by THE PLAYGROUND, the 3-day event will see the Polish producer take to the stage to showcase his signature fusion of colour-rich, cutting-edge electronic music at the foothills of the Greyton mountainscape on Elandskloof Farm in South Africa.

Approaching music from a deeply human perspective, Robert has built his sound around a philosophy of community, authenticity, and presence. His ethos was founded on the discovery that music allowed him to tap into something deeper. “I had no musical background or knowledge, no clue what I was doing,” he said. “I just improvised music. But for the first time in my life I was absolutely in the moment, like a special state of consciousness.”
We wanted to find out more about Robert Babicz and his upcoming performance, so we asked him a few timeless questions:
Set the tone for us. Why the arts?
I am 100% sure every real artist has a deep pain inside him, and he must create!! There is no other way to heal.
Which comes first when you’re producing – the sound or the idea?
The feeling. It’s all about how the track makes me feel and what the track wants from me.
What’s on your current playlist?
I am a little bit strange…I mostly listen to my own music as it keeps me focused.
Tell us about the chemistry you have with your fans on stage.
A little secret, don’t tell anyone! The people on the dancefloor think that I play for them, but in reality, they play me. I just react to the emotions that I feel on the dance floor.
How are you prepping for your set at TIMELESS fest?
I will play mostly unreleased new tracks that nobody ever heard before.
Which of your songs should festival-goers put on their ‘TIMELESS’ playlist?
Very very difficult, but maybe Robert Babicz – ‘Paradise Lost’
With so many exciting acts performing at TIMELESS festival, who are you most excited to see?
I will try to see as many as possible because it’s a great chance to learn and enjoy music from others.
Imagine you’re a festival goer. Do you rough it in a tent or glamp in luxury?
I don’t need luxury but a tent is also not my favourite. A nice, simple, clean bed is the best for a few hours of sleep.
What one thing MUST you absolutely have with you on stage?
I do love great monitoring, so I can really hear what I am doing. Besides that, a fan is nice to have fresh air.
Break down the news for us: what can we expect from you this year?
More music of course. I simply can’t stop the flow.

Trust your feelings. Logic can be a trap sometimes. And the most important feeling is love!
