Massive Attack (Robert Del Naja aka “3D”) ft. Nova Twins | Where The Nightingale Sings (Written originally by Gang of Four) | Gill Music
Release Date: 10 February, 2021
In a new remix tribute to the iconic Andy Gill of 80’s post-punk / new-wave legends Gang Of Four, Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja – otherwise known as ‘3D’ – has teamed up with rock-duo Nova Twins on a single for an upcoming album for the late artist, who sadly died in 2020.
3D and Nova Twins have remixed Gang Of Four’s classic track ‘Where The Nightingale Sings’; taking the iconic post-punk, new-wave guitar-driven track and morphing it into a slightly more minimalist experience that blooms with delay and electronic-leanings.
Soaked in the slightly eerie beauty of reverb, the signature bassline associated with the greats of post-punk sing steady with 3D and Nova Twin’s vocals adding an interesting twist to the original composition.
As the track reaches its climax it creates a theatrical, deeply cinematic experience with striking vocal harmonies amongst a brilliant atmospheric soundscape.
