Save Our Scene organise mass rave protest in London in support of Ukraine

Last Sunday, London based nightlife organisation Save Our Scene (SOS) organised a mass rave in protest of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Thousands of ravers came out to join a convoy of sound systems in Central London, with some six rigs blasting acid techno, UKG, and drum’n’bass. Two thousand people gathered outside the BBC building on Portland Place, before making their way to Oxford Circus with the music, reported Resident Advisor.

Hosts of the protest included Hot Bed and Stay Up Forever Records, while Ukrainian alt-pop duo Anna and Sonya Kuprienko better known as Bloom Twins were in attendance. The duo recently organised and curated the lineup for a fundraiser at The Roundhouse, called Night For Ukraine. Speaking to Resident Advisor, the Twins said, “It’s so important for us to be here right now. Public support is critical because this problem is not going to vanish overnight.”

Save Our Scene were integral to raising awareness for the UK nightlife industry during lockdown, organising mass rave protests that included a mass bicycle ride through London.
