Griessmuehle events will be taking place at Polygon Club and Alte Münze temporarily.
Last week Wednesday on the 22nd of January, hundreds of people – everyone from the bustling youth to older, passionate ravers – gathered outside of the town hall in Neukölln to protest the closure of iconic Berlin club Griessmuehle.
Despite the protest, and a petition signed by 48,000 people to keep the club open – February 3rd is unfortunately the final day for Griessmuehle – with the final event, the beloved party Cocktail D’Amore taking place on February 1st.
As the final closure approaches, Griessmuehle has announced temporary venues for their regular weeknight program, as well as their cultural weekend events. During the week, the regular programming will occur at Polygon Club in Friedrichshain; formerly known as Kosmonaut Club, Polygon prides itself on being an inclusive space for all.
When it comes to the regular weekend events – which include slam poetry and cinema screenings – will be taking place at Alte Münze in Mitte.
One of the first events taking place at Alte Münze is on February 7th.
Furthermore, Griessmuehle have reassured that a new space for Latitude, their beloved onsite record store, is already in the works.
