Set the tone for us. Why the arts?
My childhood was very rich when it came to creativity. I always loved painting, art and crafts in school. My parents are creative people. Also, my grandpa played the accordion. Back in high school, I listened to a lot of electro house and trance.
This was the beginning of my passion for music. I don’t remember life without it
Which comes first when you’re producing – the sound or the idea?
Sometimes I start from chords, a bass line, a melody in my head. There are a million different ways to start a composition.
Does your material feature any collaborations?
I have two collaborations with Lane 8 – founder of the This Never Happened label.
What’s on your current playlist?
Disco ‘80s: Modern Talking, C.C.Catch, Sandra, Alphaville, and many more.
Tell us about the chemistry you have with your fans on stage.
I love playing for people, exchanging that energy. The reaction can be the most filling feeling ever. When others are happy with your playing, you will love the music and energy.
What techniques do you experiment with to get your original sound?
I’m just pushing random buttons on plugins haha =), But seriously, I love experiments with sounds, processing, and mixing.
Take us through a day in the recording studio.
It depends on the mood – sometimes I can work the whole day with no rest, but sometimes I don’t even open my DAW.
Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “this is what I want to do”?
When I played in London with Lane 8 – that was a fantastic show with a crazy crowd!
What do you keep close by while you’re playing a set?
Water and earplugs.
Any emerging artists on your radar?
Massane, Archaellum.
What gets your creative juices flowing?
Listening to music
Take us through your collection of gear, tech or software that accompanies your creative expression.
I use FL Studio with VST plugins (Diva, Serum, Kontakt) and effects (Fabfilter, Izotope Ozone).
Any side projects you’re working on?
No =).
Breakdown the news for us: what can we expect from you this year?
You can expect to hear a new EP, and maybe 1 to 2 remixes.
Famous last words?
If opportunities don’t knock, build a door.
