Over the past five years, Elderbrook has become a name synonymous with pushing the boundaries of tech-house. Approaching dance music with a singer-songwriter sensibility, it can be argued that what Elderbrook actually does is craft contemporary folk music. Deeply emotive, sometimes pensive, but always beautiful, Elderbrook’s music takes shape as anecdotes inspired by the process of living and learning. His hugely successful collaboration with CamelPhat, Cola, earned the artist a Grammy nomination and on his EP Innerlight, he’s opening up the layers of his artistry in more ways than ever before. On the brink of releasing his new album Little Love, we’re sharing a conversation we had with Elderbrook before his set at the Corona Sunset Festival in Cape Town last year where we discuss the Grammys, Innerlight, and fatherhood.
